Mongolian junior athletes have departed today to compete in the highly anticipated IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Guiyang, China, from August 21 to 31, 2024. Athletes will showcase their skills across various age categories: U16, U18, and U20, competing in speed, technique, and bouldering disciplines. Renowned coach T. Och will lead the team.
This year marks the return of the IFSC Youth World Championships to China after a seven-year hiatus, with Guiyang becoming the second city in the nation to host this elite competition; the first was Guangzhou in 2016.
The IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships are recognized as the annual World Youth Championships for competition climbing, organized by the International Federation of Sport Climbing. Since its inception in Basel, Switzerland, in 1992, the championships have evolved, with bouldering being introduced in 2015.
