Eclectic post-rock band Mogwai has officially revealed an extensive 2025 tour that will span across Europe, Asia, and North America. This announcement coincides with the release of their first new song in over two years, titled “God Gets You Back.” Produced by John Congleton, the track includes lyrics inspired by guitarist Barry Burns’ seven-year-old daughter, marking a heartfelt comeback after a period of writer’s block. The song is accompanied by a visually captivating video directed by Hand Held Cine Club.
The tour kicks off on February 4 in Amsterdam and continues through Asia before arriving in North America in the spring. Major stops are set for prominent cities such as Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Toronto, culminating in a final performance on May 4 in Dallas. A full list of dates can be found below.
The band’s last album, As the Love Continues, was released in 2021. Earlier this year, Mogwai premiered Mogwai: If the Stars Had a Sound, a documentary showcasing their journey, at SXSW in Austin.
