It’s a celebrated tradition for the popular baseball franchise to feature legendary players, and the upcoming title, MLB The Show 25, continues that legacy. The latest installment, developed by San Diego Studio, has announced an impressive roster of baseball icons, headlined by the legendary hitter, Ted Williams.
Williams makes his long-awaited return to the series, joining a remarkable lineup of over 200 legends. Returning favorites such as Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, Ken Griffey Jr., and Derek Jeter will be featured alongside new additions like Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez. The game also honors the rich history of the Negro Leagues, introducing legends like Wilber “Bullet Joe” Rogan and James “Cool Papa” Bell.
The newly released trailer highlights some of the legendary players in action, including Jose Bautista, Jason Kipnis, Lance Berkman, Bobby Abreu, Gil Hodges, Jason Varitek, Darren O’Day, Don Baylor, Bobby Grich, Jim Kaat, Ted Simmons, Preston Wilson, Reggie Sanders, and Hank Greenberg.
MLB The Show 25 will delve into historical narratives with The Negro Leagues – Season 3, celebrating an era when African American players were barred from Major League Baseball. This season mode will feature captivating gameplay, historic footage, and insightful storytelling from Bob Kendrick, president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Players from the previous two seasons will also be available at launch.
Notably, MLB The Show 25 will not be available on PS4 or Xbox One and will not be included in Game Pass this year. However, the game will launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on March 18. Fans who opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition will enjoy early access starting March 14.
