MJ Lenderman has postponed the first three dates of his anticipated tour to support the release of Manning Fireworks in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. The singer-songwriter expressed his decision through a message highlighting the significant impact of the hurricane on the local community, which has left many without power, damaged roads, and destroyed homes and businesses.
The tour will now kick off this Sunday in Knoxville, Tennessee. Lenderman advised fans to stay tuned for updates on rescheduled performances in Atlanta and Nashville. As an Asheville native, Lenderman has also provided links to local disaster relief efforts for those wishing to contribute to recovery efforts.
Despite the postponement, the majority of Lenderman’s extensive tour schedule remains intact. The Manning Fireworks tour is now set to commence on October 6 in Knoxville and will extend through April of next year. Joining Lenderman on select dates will be supporting acts including Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band, Hollow Hand, Wild Pink, This Is Lorelei, and Nap Eyes.
In recent news, MJ Lenderman & the Wind delivered a memorable performance of the single “Wristwatch” from Manning Fireworks on a late-night television show, marking Lenderman’s debut. He was joined by fellow musician Karly Hartzman, adding vocal and instrumental support to the performance.
