A 13-year-old girl who went missing from Kazhakuttam has been located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, just one day after her disappearance.
The girl, whose family hails from Assam and depends on daily wage work, was identified on a train by a local association and subsequently handed over to the Railway Protection Force.
In response to reports suggesting the girl had traveled to Chennai, Kerala Police expanded their search efforts into neighboring states. Authorities feared she might attempt to take a train to her hometown, Guwahati, Assam.
On the day she went missing, the girl reportedly traveled by bus from Kazhakuttam to Thiruvananthapuram, then boarded a train to Kanyakumari. Surveillance footage at Nagercoil station confirms she was seen before continuing on the same train to Chennai.
To trace the missing girl, police were actively reviewing CCTV footage from various railway and bus stations. Both local law enforcement and Railway Police units were mobilized to search for her following the alarming reports received early Tuesday morning.
