Mega Millions has announced the results of its latest drawing, revealing an estimated jackpot of $1.22 billion. As anticipation builds, it remains uncertain whether a lucky player has emerged as the winner.
The drawn numbers are 3, 7, 37, 49, 55, with the gold Mega Ball being 6. Lottery officials typically take hours to verify and announce the winners. In the event that no winning ticket is sold, the jackpot could soar to an estimated $1.47 billion.
This latest jackpot represents the fifth-highest ever offered by Mega Millions. Despite the daunting odds of 1 in 302.6 million, players remain eager to try their luck as the grand prize continues to grow.
Winners selecting the annuity option for the jackpot will receive a total amount disbursed over 29 years. However, most winners prefer the cash payout, which is approximately $549.7 million for this drawing.
The record for the largest Mega Millions jackpot stands at $1.6 billion, claimed by a ticket sold in Florida in August 2023. The Powerball lottery has seen two larger prizes than this.
The Mega Millions game has not seen a top prize winner since September 10. Both Mega Millions and Powerball are available in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with Powerball tickets also available in Puerto Rico.
