In a shocking turn of events in the widely publicized Meerut murder case, Muskan’s parents have announced their decision to sever all ties with their daughter, who is currently behind bars facing charges of orchestrating the murder of her husband, Saurabh, along with her alleged accomplice, Sahil.
“We will not meet her or advocate on her behalf. This isn’t just any crime; it’s a grave act. Just as one would remove an infected body part, we have chosen to cut ourselves off from her. While she is still our child and there will be an emotional void, we cannot support her after such a horrific act,” stated Muskan’s mother, Kavita.
The couple also dismissed claims made by Saurabh’s family regarding financial irregularities, asserting their innocence. They clarified that they had returned more than half of the Rs 1 lakh received from Saurabh and emphasized their stable financial condition.
“Our finances are secure. If Saurabh had truly earned between Rs 80-90 lakh, why was he residing in a modest room? Additionally, claims about him being in the Navy have proven to be misleading. He transferred Rs 2.5 lakh to his mother’s account because he suspected it might not be returned, demonstrating more trust in us than in his own family,” remarked Muskan’s father, Pramod.
Muskan’s parents expressed their willingness to cooperate fully with any investigation, asserting that they have nothing to hide.
DISCOUNTING STEP-MOTHER ALLEGATIONS
Kavita firmly rejected recent allegations regarding her status as a stepmother, stating, “I am her biological mother. She is making false statements out of anger.”
Muskan’s father reinforced this, clarifying, “There is no truth to claims that Kavita is Muskan’s stepmother. She made that remark in a moment of frustration at the police station. Muskan was closer to her late maternal aunt, which may explain her current sentiments.”
ALLEGATIONS OF MANIPULATION AND DRUG USE
Kavita recounted a troubling conversation with Muskan on March 18, when her daughter inquired about the meaning of “Karan Vishachini,” an unfamiliar term to them. “We don’t subscribe to superstitions and brushed off her question. However, after witnessing Sahil’s environment, I believe he had a negative influence on her,” she remarked.
The mother stressed her firm stance that even if Muskan is released in the future, she will not be welcomed back. “I realize this may sound harsh, but it’s my resolution. Even her daughter should not have to bear the weight of this crime,” she affirmed.
BACKGROUND OF THE MEERUT MURDER CASE
Saurabh was reportedly murdered by his wife and her lover, with his dismembered remains found in a plastic drum filled with cement in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The case gained attention on March 18.
Saurabh, who recently returned from London where he worked at a bakery, had been living with Muskan and their five-year-old daughter in a rented home for the past three years. Police records indicate that Saurabh was last seen on March 4, the day he was allegedly killed.
