Real Madrid has officially announced that Kylian Mbappé will not be part of the squad for the upcoming Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real Sociedad due to a dental issue. The French forward did not participate in Tuesday’s training session, yet head coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that Mbappé will still accompany the team to San Sebastián.
As Real Madrid’s leading scorer this season, Mbappé has netted 28 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Additionally, midfielder Fede Valverde and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have also been excluded from the traveling roster as they are on the path to recovery from minor fitness concerns. In positive news for the team, England international Jude Bellingham is set to return to action after serving a suspension during Sunday’s La Liga match against Girona.
In other Copa del Rey semi-final action, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid engaged in an exciting 4-4 draw in the first leg of their matchup.
