A 32-year-old man has been arrested on serious charges including the alleged rape and filming of pornographic videos involving his 14-year-old daughter, officials announced on Sunday.
The suspect, known only as Mr. Arnon, was captured at his rented residence in Hua Hin after evading law enforcement for over a month. He faced charges related to multiple criminal cases, including theft, fraud, and sexual assault against a minor, according to police authorities.
Authorities were in pursuit of Mr. Arnon due to his involvement in mobile phone thefts across several areas in Bangkok from late July to early August 2024. During the investigation, his daughter detailed the horrific abuse she endured at his hands.
According to the victim, her father forcibly took her for a contraceptive injection and then imprisoned her at a different residence in Pathum Thani, where she was subjected to sexual abuse and filmed over a week-long period.
Moreover, Mr. Arnon reportedly orchestrated a disturbing scenario involving his new partner and another man, coercing his daughter to participate in creating explicit content. When the girl attempted to reach out for help, her father retaliated violently.
Bravely, she managed to escape and contacted authorities to report the abuse. Investigators noted that Mr. Arnon destroyed key evidence and dismantled security cameras in an effort to conceal his actions before fleeing.
Evidence has since emerged suggesting that he not only coerced his daughter but also targeted other minors, including attempting to extort a 15-year-old girl for nude images.
During police questioning, Mr. Arnon denied all allegations against him.
