Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced on Saturday the suspension of state transport buses to Karnataka following an attack on a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus. The incident occurred on Friday night in Chitradurga, Karnataka, when pro-Kannada activists targeted the bus traveling from Bengaluru to Mumbai.
The attackers not only vandalized the bus but also assaulted the driver, Bhaskar Jadhav, who was physically harmed during the incident. Minister Sarnaik emphasized that bus services would remain suspended until the Karnataka government clarifies its position on the matter.
