Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman showcased an impressive performance as Atalanta surged to a dominant 3-0 lead against Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward played a pivotal role, scoring a goal and consistently threatening the Empoli defense throughout the first half.
Lookman found the back of the net in the 43rd minute with a precise finish, extending Atalanta’s lead, which was initially boosted by an own goal from Emmanuel Gyasi and a strike from Mateo Retegui.
Beyond his scoring, Lookman’s movement and creativity kept the Empoli defenders in constant turmoil, effectively linking up with his teammates and enhancing Atalanta’s attacking momentum.
This stellar display followed a disappointing Champions League outing, where a penalty save contributed to Atalanta’s 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge.
However, Lookman quickly bounced back, demonstrating his skill and determination in Serie A. As the second half progresses, he is expected to build on his tally and guide Atalanta towards securing a vital three points.
The Super Eagles celebrated Lookman’s achievement, noting, “Another Atalanta game, another Ademola Lookman goal. He’s just good like that.”
