Introducing the Llama 3.1 Impact Grants Program
Applications are now open for the Llama 3.1 Impact Grants, which will provide funding for projects utilizing the advanced features of the latest Llama 3.1 model. This model now supports previously unsupported languages, including French, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Thai, and matches leading AI models in knowledge, reasoning, mathematics, tool usage, and multilingual translation capabilities.
This year, a total of $2 million USD will be awarded through the program, with eligible organizations worldwide able to apply for awards up to $500,000 USD. Additionally, regional events will be hosted to offer technical guidance and mentorship, focusing on local issues such as agriculture, business solutions, health tech, and cultural preservation. Attendees at these events will also be eligible for specialized awards of up to $100,000 USD, alongside consideration for the main awards.
Continuing a Legacy of Innovation
The Llama 3.1 Impact Grants program builds upon the success of the inaugural Llama Impact Grants, which attracted over 800 applications from 90 countries and supported a diverse array of projects ranging from AI-driven educational tools to initiatives addressing maternal healthcare information gaps. The program provided mentorship and community support, establishing a global network of developers focused on using AI for social benefit.
