Four Tet has collaborated with Ellie Goulding on a brand-new track titled “In My Dreams.” The partnership reignited late last year when the acclaimed pop singer shared voice notes with Kieren Hebden, sparking a creative synergy. The song is available for listening below.
Hebden shared insights on the creative process, stating, “She’s told me in the past she likes to send me vocals that I can just use as sound and turn into whatever I want. I found other sounds to go with it and made ‘In My Dreams.’ She added some new vocal parts, but we ended up keeping the voice note recordings as the main vocal. I guess the first take is often the most magical.”
Previously, Goulding collaborated with Four Tet on his 2020 track “Baby.” Hebden also recently remixed her song “Easy Lover,” earning acclaim and a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording.
Throughout the years, the prominent pop singer has sought Hebden’s remix expertise several times, while Four Tet has remixed her 2013 hit “Burn” and sampled her track “The Writer” for the song “Back2TheStart.” Goulding’s latest music project is her 2020 album, Brightest Blue.
