Leon Bridges is set to release his highly anticipated new album, Leon, on October 4, following the success of his 2021 project, Gold-Diggers Sound. The lead single, "Peaceful Place," has already captured attention, showcasing Bridges’ unique blend of soulful melodies.
The album Leon was produced by Ian Fitchuk at El Desierto studio in Mexico, with additional production by Daniel Tashian in Nashville. "This record has been a long time coming," Bridges stated. "I began writing parts of it during the Gold-Diggers Sound era, but they didn’t quite fit that project. It was challenging to move on, as these songs represent a significant part of me, and I believe this is some of my best work yet."
Bridges expressed that Leon is deeply personal, reflecting on his childhood experiences and his Texas roots. "This record is about simpler days and the time spent in my beloved Fort Worth. It embodies the soulful music that truly represents my essence," he said. "I am excited to share these stories about nostalgia and my upbringing, and I hope it resonates with listeners, bringing them back to their own roots."
In recent years, Bridges has collaborated with fellow artists, most notably Khruangbin, releasing the Texas Sun EP in 2020 and the Texas Moon EP two years later.
The tracklist for Leon includes:
- When a Man Cries
- That’s What I Love
- Laredo
- Panther City
- Ain’t Got Nothing on You
- Simplify
- Teddy’s Tune
- Never Satisfied
- Peaceful Place
- Can’t Have It All
