LCD Soundsystem to Launch Exclusive 2025 Residency at O2 Academy Brixton
LCD Soundsystem has officially announced an exciting eight-night residency at London’s iconic O2 Academy Brixton, set to take place from June 12 to June 22, 2025. The residency will feature early evening performances for their two Sunday shows. Details regarding opening acts have yet to be disclosed.
Before heading to the UK, the band will embark on their much-anticipated U.S. spring tour, kicking off next week. The tour will include stops in Phoenix, San Diego, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, and Atlanta, before they transition to Europe for renowned music festivals like Primavera Sound in Barcelona and We Love Green in Paris this summer.
This residency marks the band’s second London engagement, following their successful six-show stint at the same venue in 2022. Notably, Brixton is the only non-American city to enjoy a special residency from the band, which has also performed multiple sold-out shows in cities including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Boston, along with recurring residencies in New York City.
Following a comprehensive update from bandleader James Murphy about their plans for new music and residencies, LCD Soundsystem has confirmed they are diligently working on a new album. This upcoming release will be the first since 2017’s American Dream, and will follow the recent single “X-Ray Eyes” and the contribution "New Body Rhumba" to Netflix’s film adaptation of Don DeLillo’s novel.
