A representative for the Las Vegas Sphere has officially denied any arrangement to showcase the Dogwifhat meme coin at the venue. This statement stands in stark contrast to assertions made by supporters of the Dogwifhat (WIF) token.
The Sphere spokesperson clarified, “We have never had a deal with Dogwifhat, and our agency only engaged in a very preliminary conversation early last year.” They further emphasized that there were no plans for Dogwifhat to be featured at the venue and expressed concern over the potential misuse of the venue’s name for misleading claims.
This clarification comes after a now-deleted post from Dogwifhat’s official account, which prematurely stated, “Officially confirmed. Viva hat vegas,” along with an artistic depiction of the meme dog at the Sphere. A revised version of this post later omitted the confirmation but retained the artwork, which showcased a phone screen displaying “Q1 2025.”
In March 2024, five organizers had collected funds from Dogwifhat supporters to promote the coin at the Sphere, leading to a spike in the token’s value to an all-time high of $4.83. However, the absence of any actual campaign has drawn significant criticism, with many investors now seeking refunds.
