Train services on the northern line between Lampang and Chiang Mai stations are currently suspended due to severe landslides and flooding, as announced by the State Railway of Thailand on Monday.
The affected line is expected to remain closed until further notice. Damage to the tracks occurred on Sunday night between Mae Tan Noi station in Lampang and Tha Chompoo in Lamphun.
All northern-bound trains are being halted at Lampang station, with return trips to Bangkok departing from there. To accommodate passengers, bus services are operating in both directions between Chiang Mai and Lampang.
The Meteorological Department has issued a nationwide storm warning, predicting rain and thunderstorms across much of the northern region, including Chiang Mai, Lampang, and Lamphun, lasting until Tuesday.
