Lady Gaga is set to drop her highly anticipated album, Harlequin, on Friday, September 27. Described on social media as a “companion album” to the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux, in which she portrays Harley Quinn, this release is generating significant excitement among fans.
The album Harlequin is seen as a potential interim offering between her previous album, Chromatica, and her teased seventh studio album, expected in February. The announcement coincides with promotional billboards for LG6.5, while Gaga refers to the future release as LG7. Notably, some tracks from Harlequin, including “Oh, When the Saints,” “World on a String,” “If My Friends Could See Me Now,” and “That’s Life,” suggest a covers theme for the album.
Harlequin is one of two related album releases this Friday. The other is the score for the film, Joker: Folie à Deux (Score From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).
The film Joker: Folie à Deux, featuring Joaquin Phoenix alongside Lady Gaga, will premiere in theaters on October 4. On the same day, Gaga will unveil yet another album, titled Joker: Folie à Deux (Music From the Motion Picture).
The official tracklist for Harlequin includes:
