The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board has announced the shortlisting of 1,811 applicants for employment.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Ilorin, the Board revealed that this selection comes from a pool of 55,713 applicants statewide.
Among those shortlisted, 1,500 are for teaching positions, primarily in STEM subjects, while 311 are designated for non-teaching roles, including drivers, security guards, and office assistants across the 16 local government areas in Kwara State.
Successful candidates holding valid phone numbers have already been notified about their employment letters.
Documentation commenced on January 6 for successful applicants from Kwara North, continuing with new hires from Kwara South on January 7, and concluding with candidates from Kwara Central on January 8.
KWSUBEB Chairman, Prof. Sheu Adaramaja, emphasized that the recruitment process aims to hire individuals who are committed to their assigned locations. He noted that the Board has prioritized nominations from rural areas to address the workforce needs in these regions.
