Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has launched a scathing critique of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing the Congress government of jeopardizing public lands for profit. KTR claims the government intends to auction 400 acres of valuable land in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, at substantially reduced prices to amass Rs 30,000 crore, contradicting prior commitments to retain these properties.
KTR attributed the financial turmoil in Telangana to the Congress government’s management, asserting it has resorted to mortgaging and selling state lands to remain afloat. He condemned the reversal of pivotal policies and demanded a public apology from Revanth Reddy for allegedly misleading the Assembly.
In defending the previous BRS government’s actions, KTR emphasized that loans taken during KCR’s administration were directed toward welfare schemes, irrigation projects, and infrastructure enhancement. He contrasted this with the Congress government’s apparent reckless borrowing of Rs 1.65 lakh crore within a mere 15 months, questioning the utilization of these funds.
Further criticism was directed at the Congress government for dismantling welfare programs, neglecting irrigation initiatives, and mismanaging governance, which has resulted in power outages and an agricultural crisis. KTR attributed responsibility for the tragic Srisailam tunnel collapse, which claimed eight lives, to the current administration.
KTR accused Revanth Reddy of placing Delhi’s interests above those of Telangana, asserting that the Congress party has regressed the state within just over a year. He emphasized that Telangana, once a national model during KCR’s governance, is now facing significant challenges under ineffective leadership.
