Kevin Morby has unveiled an exciting new one-day music festival he has curated, aptly titled “This Is a Festival.” The event, which draws inspiration from Morby’s 2022 album, will take place at the scenic Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz, California. Festival-goers can look forward to captivating performances from an impressive lineup, including Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Makaya McCraven, Ben Kweller, and Blackstarkids, with Morby himself headlining the event.
In a statement about the festival, Morby expressed his disbelief at being able to host such an event, describing it as “surreal.” He elaborated, “It feels like a dream in which you’re trying to rationalize how all of these different people from your life are somehow in the same place at the same time. This festival brings together five of my favorite artists from the last twenty years, all appearing at an amphitheater that will be MC’d by my favorite podcast. I invite everyone to join me and enjoy performances at the Quarry Amphitheater this October—come be part of my dream!”
Morby continues to make waves in the music scene following his recent releases, including “More Photographs (A Continuum),” a companion to his acclaimed album “This Is a Photograph,” and his contributions to the soundtrack of the film “Montana Story.” Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience a day filled with unforgettable music at this newly announced festival.
