American golfer Keegan Bradley clinched the lead at the BMW Championship, finishing the third round with a birdie on the 18th hole, placing him one shot ahead of Adam Scott. Despite a challenging day, Bradley managed to navigate a mix of eight birdies and six bogeys, ultimately carding a two-under 70 and heading into the final round at Castle Pines Golf Club with an impressive 12-under par.
Bradley’s performance outshone Scott, who stumbled to a third-round score of 74. Although Scott secured two late birdies to minimize the gap, he finished the round trailing Bradley. Reflecting on his performance, Scott noted, “I felt like I made a meal of that… a couple of drives were just not quite right, and a three-putt, and all of a sudden I’m chasing. I’m in a good spot at the end of it to be one back.”
Bradley, the current clubhouse leader, expressed pride in his tenacity under the tough conditions, battling against challenging windy weather and elevated tees. “It was tough out there today,” he stated. “Proud of the way I fought… I played some brilliant golf but also hit some terrible shots. After three consecutive bogeys, I reminded myself I was either tied for the lead or maybe one back… I really hit quality shots coming in after that.”
The Swedish duo of Ludvig Åberg and Alex Noren are tied for third, each sitting at 10-under par after rounds of 71 and 70, respectively. American golfer Xander Schauffele follows them closely at seven under, three shots behind.
