The commissioner reported that local government areas were hit hard, with Birnin Kebbi recording two fatalities, Ngaski seven, Maiyama eight, Kalgo five, and Jega seven.
Emphasizing the need for federal support, the commissioner stated, “Given the severe impact of the floods in Kebbi State, we cannot manage this crisis alone, prompting our request for the Federal Government to urgently extend assistance to provide relief to the affected victims.”
In a proactive move, Kebbi State has compiled a report detailing the damage and has forwarded it to the federal authorities for immediate consideration and action. The commissioner also expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for its commitment to assist states grappling with the aftermath of flooding across the nation.
