Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to addressing insecurity following a recent bandit attack in Ba-jiza and Rausa Kade villages within Arewa Local Government Area.
During his visit to the affected communities on Saturday, Idris expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and vowed to enhance security measures in the region. “I will ensure that the security architecture of the area becomes more effective and efficient to prevent future attacks,” the governor stated.
In a move to bolster community welfare, he announced the construction of three motorized boreholes—two in Ba-jiza and one in Rausa Kade—to provide residents with access to clean water.
The attack, which took place last Thursday, resulted in the loss of six lives, with bandits stealing livestock, including cows and goats.
To further assist the affected communities, Idris ordered the swift completion of an unfinished mosque in Rausa Kade, instructing the Local Government Chairman to finalize the project within two weeks. He also committed to collaborating with neighboring Sokoto State to fortify security efforts and combat banditry effectively.
Hon. Sani Aliyu, Chairman of Arewa Local Government, praised the governor for his prompt response and acknowledged the efforts of security agencies in maintaining peace in the region.
