The Kano State Government has launched its Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2024–2028, a pivotal initiative designed to combat corruption and foster integrity throughout the state.
The unveiling took place on International Anti-Corruption Day, emphasizing this year’s theme, “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity,” which underscores the crucial role of youth in driving change against corruption.
During the event, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf highlighted the pressing need to confront corruption, referring to it as a destructive force that undermines trust in institutions and stifles progress. He articulated his administration’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding human rights and enhancing transparency in governance.
In conjunction with the strategy launch, the event included debates, awareness campaigns, and collaborative discussions among various stakeholders, emphasizing the necessity for greater cooperation among anti-corruption bodies, civil society, the media, and the private sector.
The state’s Anti-Corruption Coordinator expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from international partners, reaffirming their dedication to promoting good governance, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria.
This strategy marks a significant step toward a collective effort to establish a corruption-free environment in Kano State.
