ECNETNews is excited to announce the release of the new EP Neptunes by composer and producer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, in collaboration with Joe Goddard of Hot Chip. This highly anticipated EP is set to drop on November 22. In addition to the release date, the title track has been unveiled, accompanied by a captivating video directed by Aron Sanchez-Baranda.
The track “Neptunes” is an homage to the iconic production duo of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, as envisioned by Goddard. Smith interpreted the title through a cosmic lens, inspired by the planet Neptune. “I loved what the rhythm made me feel when I first heard it,” she shared. “It influenced me to incorporate more space-themed sounds into my part.”
Smith’s latest studio album, Let’s Turn It Into Sound, was released in 2022, while Goddard introduced his third solo project, Harmonics, earlier this year.
