Moses Jituboh, the former Aide-de-Camp to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54 after a brief illness, according to local sources. His death occurred on Friday, and an autopsy is currently underway to determine the cause.
Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC during his tenure as governor of Bayelsa State and continued in that role when Jonathan ascended to the presidency. Following the 2015 election loss, Jituboh returned to his duties within the police force and was rumored to be in line for the position of Inspector General of Police but ultimately did not secure the role.
The Zone 16 Police Command has expressed condolences to the Jituboh family and the people of Bayelsa following the death of the former Deputy Inspector-General. A statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer emphasized, “He was enlisted into the Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.”
His passing is described as a significant loss not only to his family but also to Bayelsa State, the Nigeria Police, and the nation. The statement added, “His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, dedication to service, and integrity will always be remembered.”
The command has extended heartfelt prayers for strength to the family in light of their irreplaceable loss.
