Jasprit Bumrah has been officially ruled out of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy due to a persistent lower back injury. The fast bowler sustained the injury during India’s Test series against Australia, leading to his absence from the current ODI and T20 series against England.
In light of this development, Harshit Rana has been called up to replace Bumrah in the squad. Additionally, spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has been added to the team, taking over from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was initially included in the provisional squad.

The ICC Champions Trophy makes its return this month, the first since 2017, hosted in Pakistan. India will play their matches in Dubai, opting not to travel to Pakistan due to ongoing political tensions.
Pakistan will kick off the tournament on February 19 against New Zealand in Karachi, with India facing Bangladesh in their opening match on February 20 as part of Group A. Meanwhile, England finds itself grouped with Australia, South Africa, and Afghanistan in Group B.
The semi-finals are set to take place on March 4-5, culminating in the final match scheduled for March 9.
