Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended Arokodare Ebenezer, a businessman based in Lekki and owner of Damillionz Takeout, for allegedly orchestrating the shipment of 60 parcels of Loud, a powerful strain of cannabis, from the United States to Nigeria.
Ebenezer, 43, was captured on March 24, 2025, at Bay Lounge situated on Admiralty Way in Lagos while waiting to receive his latest drug shipment.
NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy reported that the operation followed a prior seizure on March 12, 2025, when officers intercepted seven large cartons containing the illegal substance at a logistics company in Lagos.
Subsequent searches at Ebenezer’s Lekki residence uncovered an additional 94 grams of cannabis, a cannabis crusher, and other drug paraphernalia, bringing the total weight of the seized cannabis to 32.24 kilograms. During questioning, Ebenezer disclosed that he had been involved in the illicit drug trade since 2017.
In a separate operation, NDLEA officials disrupted an attempt by an Italy-based individual, Omoruyi Terry, to export 1,400 pills of tramadol (225mg) weighing 800 grams to Italy. Terry was intercepted at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Additionally, NDLEA operatives in Katsina State arrested four suspects—Baraka Abubakar, Haruna Alitine, Muhammad Babangida, and Hamisu Lawal—on March 28, 2025, after an intelligence-led raid in Godai village, Daura Local Government Area. The operation resulted in the recovery of 684 blocks of compressed skunk (423kg) and 86,000 pills of diazepam.
Furthermore, NDLEA operatives have destroyed 13,198 kilograms of cannabis sativa in Edo State and confiscated 158 kilograms for possible legal action. Operations were also conducted across Niger, Enugu, Kwara, and Oyo States, where significant quantities of cannabis were seized.
On March 28, in Niger State, officers intercepted a black Toyota Corolla containing 77.6 kilograms of compressed cannabis hidden in the vehicle’s false bottom. An additional 50 kilograms of skunk were recovered from a suspect’s residence in Wawa village, Borgu Local Government Area.
The NDLEA continues its War Against Drug Abuse initiative, providing educational lectures across schools and communities nationwide. Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, commended the agency’s personnel for their successful operations and urged ongoing vigilance in combating drug abuse.
