At least 11 Palestinians have reportedly lost their lives due to the actions of Israeli forces in northern occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian health officials. The casualties include five individuals who were killed during an airstrike in al-Far’a refugee camp, and six others who died amid a combination of drone strikes and armed confrontations in Jenin.
Israeli security forces announced that they are executing a comprehensive “counterterrorism operation” aimed at dismantling perceived terrorist threats in Jenin and Tulkarm. This large-scale operation marks a significant escalation, with multiple Palestinian cities—namely Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Tubas—being targeted concurrently.
Reports suggest that this operation is unprecedented since the second intifada, which occurred from 2000 to 2005, highlighting the rarity of simultaneous assaults on multiple cities. Palestinian sources indicate that access routes to Jenin have been blocked, intensifying armed clashes within the city’s refugee camp. An Israeli airstrike also reportedly struck a vehicle in a nearby village early this morning.
In a concerning development, Israeli forces are alleged to have entered a hospital in Jenin and restricted access to two hospitals in Tulkarm. Additionally, military operations in Nablus are focused on specific refugee camps within the area. Medics in the Far’a camp near Tubas have reported difficulties in reaching the wounded, particularly after a drone strike.
Israeli Foreign Minister stated that the military has been “operating with full force” in the Jenin and Tulkarm refugee camps, claiming the goal is to dismantle what he described as Iranian-backed terrorist infrastructures established in the regions. He accused Iran of attempting to escalate hostilities by creating a “second front” against Israel in the West Bank.
While details of the ongoing operations remain scarce, the Israeli military confirmed that the Israel Defense Forces, internal security agency, and border police are actively engaged in counterterrorism efforts in Jenin and Tulkarm.
