President Bola Tinubu attended Jumat prayers at the Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos State, marking his first public appearance since last week’s prayer at Alausa Central Mosque. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and several dignitaries, including mosque officials.
In a statement released, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy highlighted the Chief Imam of the Lekki Central Mosque, Ridhwan Jamiu, offering prayers for the president’s success in guiding the nation towards peace, security, and prosperity. He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “We are proud of you. We believe and pray that you will not disappoint us.”
The Chief Imam acknowledged Tinubu’s commitment to righteousness and justice, urging him to maintain these principles. He remarked on Tinubu’s character, associating it with the qualities of the Prophet Muhammad and expressing hope that such virtues would continue to define his presidency.
Tinubu is in Lagos for the holidays following his presentation of the 2025 budget to the National Assembly on December 18.
