Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) is advising passengers to arrive early as the Christmas holiday season approaches, leading to an expected surge in travel. The airport has issued an important travel advisory to facilitate smooth airport operations and minimize last-minute delays.
The advisory emphasizes the importance of planning ahead, recommending that travelers arrive at least two hours prior for domestic flights and three hours for international departures. Passengers are reminded to have all necessary travel documents at hand and to cooperate with airport staff for a seamless experience.
In November 2024, RGIA achieved a historical milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic, surpassing the 2.5 million mark. The data from GMR Airports Limited indicates that RGIA accommodated a staggering 2.53 million passengers throughout the month.
Notably, November 10 emerged as the airport’s busiest day, with an impressive throughput of 89,000 passengers, underscoring the increasing demand for air travel during this peak season.
