Huge waves strike Peruvian coastline

Three-quarters of Peru’s ports are currently closed due to powerful waves impacting the coastline. As a precautionary measure, all beaches have been shut down, and fishing boats are prohibited from venturing out to sea.

The ongoing wave activity is attributed to sustained wind patterns originating from the United States, as reported by Enrique Varea, Chief of Hydrography and Navigation for the Peruvian Navy.
