In a recent update, ECNETNews reports that prominent jockey Hollie Doyle shares insights on her upcoming rides in Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.
Returning to Hong Kong Excites Doyle
Hollie Doyle expressed her enthusiasm about competing against the world’s top jockeys this Sunday and next Wednesday in Hong Kong, before heading to Saudi Arabia for the International Jockeys’ Challenge. Riding with her husband, she looks forward to the exhilarating experience at Sha Tin, where she has previously celebrated four victories.
The call to ride in Hong Kong comes after injuries sidelined four jockeys, including notable names. Doyle and her husband are grateful for the opportunity to compete again so soon and wish a swift recovery to their fellow riders.
Promising Prospects on Race Day
Doyle’s second mount, Dragon Four Seas, is anticipated to perform well in the 1200m Daisy Handicap, following a recent victory. Despite starting from stall 12, the four-year-old horse has demonstrated resilience at challenging starting positions.
In the Lotus Handicap, Billionaire Secret also shows promise after recently finishing second over 2000m, and Doyle aims for a strong finish over the shorter 1800m distance. Furthermore, Namjong Kingdom is expected to perform better with an increased trip in the Marigold Handicap.
Feature Race Insights
The Heung Yee Kuk Cup Handicap, a highlight of the day, features Romantic Thor, who is anticipated to excel over the 1600m distance. Doyle is keen to start the card on Bingo Babe and connect with Me Tsui for further rides, including Candlelight Dinner later in the day.
Other contenders of note include Lucky Gold in the Jasmine Handicap and Draco, who has strong claims in the 6.30am race. Meanwhile, Aeroinvinicble will have a challenge from a wide gate in the Primula Handicap, but Doyle remains optimistic about the horse’s potential.
Collaborating with Leading Trainers
On Wednesday, Doyle anticipates riding for esteemed trainer David Hayes, with a hopeful mount on Aurio and a notable ride on Flying Fortress. With eight anticipated rides midweek, she will then travel to Saudi Arabia for the prestigious Saudi Cup meeting.
Facing Global Competitors in Saudi Arabia
Doyle will join a talented group of seven female jockeys competing for a $100,000 prize against seven male counterparts in Riyadh. Among her competitors is acclaimed jockey James McDonald. The lineup also features champions such as Oisin Murphy, Tadhg O’Shea, Maryline Eon, Rachel King, Christophe Soumillon, and legendary US jockey John Velazquez.
With a thrilling day of racing ahead, Doyle is proud to represent her country on an international stage shortly after her recent participation in Hong Kong.
