Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh received a warm welcome from supporters as he arrived for the BJP’s Parivartan rally in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, on September 26, 2024.
During the rally, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a fierce critique of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing him of “pretending to be a martyr” following his imprisonment on corruption charges. Singh urged voters to oust the JMM-led government, emphasizing the need for a change in leadership to facilitate development in the state.
“Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren is falsely portraying himself as a ‘martyr’ after his jail term due to corruption. A leader embroiled in corruption cannot drive Jharkhand towards progress. It’s time to give the BJP two consecutive terms for unparalleled development in the state,” Singh stated at the Parivartan rally in Dhanbad.
Singh further accused the incumbent administration of promoting “infiltration and conversion” for political gain, a stark contrast to the BJP’s commitment to construct homes for all within three years of taking office.
He championed the “one nation, one election” policy, highlighting its potential to save the national treasury ₹4 lakh crore, as the current system of frequent elections is estimated to cost around ₹7 lakh crore.
Additionally, Singh criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for harming India’s international image, stating that India is now a strong nation, with a warning that any provocation would not go unanswered, referencing India’s strategic actions in Pakistan as illustrative of this new strength.
