WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris is set to unveil a detailed report on her medical history and health this Saturday, aimed at demonstrating her readiness to serve as president. A senior campaign aide stated that the findings will affirm “she possesses the physical and mental resiliency” necessary for the role.
Harris’ team intends to leverage this announcement to draw a contrast with Republican candidate Donald Trump, who has provided minimal information regarding his health throughout his political career, raising concerns about his fitness for office, according to the aide.
While specifics about the report’s depth have not been disclosed, the aide, speaking confidentially, noted that the conclusion confirms Harris “possesses the physical and mental resiliency required to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, including those as Chief Executive, Head of State, and Commander in Chief.”
Trump, aged 78, has been criticized for releasing very limited health details, especially after a recent concerning incident involving an assassination attempt.
Previously, Trump raised questions about President Joe Biden’s health during the 81-year-old’s reelection campaign. Now, with Biden replaced on the ticket by the 59-year-old Harris, Trump’s own health has come under scrutiny.
In November, Trump attempted to reassure the public about his health by releasing a letter from his physician stating he was in “excellent” physical and mental condition, though the letter lacked specific details such as weight, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, or test results.
