Since the initial teaser on social media, Haim has been engaging fans with additional song snippets, often featuring the sisters dancing and lip-syncing. They have also creatively hinted at the song’s theme with visuals such as bracelets emblazoned with various relationship statuses: “Single,” “I’m Taken,” and “I’m ???”
According to recent statements, “Relationships” serves as the first glimpse of an upcoming Haim album, following their last studio effort, Women in Music Pt. III, released in 2020. The sisters have since released standalone singles like “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” and “Lost Track,” along with the original track “Feel the Thunder” for the animated feature The Croods: A New Age, alongside remixes featuring other prominent artists.
While Haim has been relatively quiet about new music in recent times, they did hint at potential collaborations during a 2023 interview, subtly mentioning their work in the studio with a renowned producer. “We played Jai Paul earlier; we might’ve been in the studio with him,” they mused, teasing fans with potential new developments.
