At least five pilgrims, including two women, tragically lost their lives and 12 others sustained serious injuries after a private bus plunged into a gorge in Gujarat early Sunday morning.
The accident occurred around 4:30 am when the bus, transporting pilgrims, fell off the Malegaon Ghat road into a 35-foot deep gorge in Dang district after the driver reportedly lost control. Officials confirmed that two men and three women were among the deceased.
The ill-fated bus was one of four that had departed from Guna district in Madhya Pradesh, carrying a total of 50 tourists. The incident took place near the Gujarat-Maharashtra border, close to the popular Saputara Hill Station.
