News Release – ECNETNews proudly reports that Grenada has experienced a remarkable surge in tourist arrivals during the first half of 2024, with visitor numbers increasing by 20% in Q1 and Q2 compared to 2019, and 18% compared to 2023. This growth underscores Grenada’s rising status as a premier travel destination despite recent challenges.
In July 2024 alone, visitor arrivals rose by 10% compared to 2019 and by 5% compared to 2023. Recent analysis has highlighted the swift recovery of Grenada following Hurricane Beryl, demonstrating the island’s impressive resilience and a quick rebound to normal booking levels. “The market has shown remarkable strength, quickly returning to pre-storm levels,” officials noted.
After Hurricane Beryl, tourism officials took proactive steps to reassure potential visitors about the tri-island state’s resilience. While some northern areas required relief, mainland Grenada remained open to tourists. These strategic initiatives have played a crucial role in achieving the notable increase in visitor numbers.
“We are ecstatic to report such positive growth in visitor arrivals, which reflects Grenada’s lasting allure and the diligent work of our tourism sector,” said the CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority. “Our comprehensive strategies to enhance and maintain our market presence have included direct engagements with key travel and airline partners, as well as media outreach,” she explained. According to her, these efforts have effectively communicated that Grenada is ready and welcoming to visitors, as evidenced by the impressive arrival statistics. The CEO expressed optimism about sustaining this positive momentum for Grenada throughout 2024 and beyond.
