In an impactful debut on Independence Day as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav announced ambitious plans to boost the State’s contribution to the national economy from 4% to 5% within five years.
Clad in traditional attire, Mr. Yadav unveiled the national flag and received a guard of honour at Lal Parade ground before delivering his address at the State-level celebration.
In a noteworthy revelation, he declared the upcoming launch of multiple initiatives targeting youth, women, farmers, and the economically disadvantaged on November 1, coinciding with Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day.
“Inspired by the vision of the Prime Minister, our government is introducing four key missions: Yuva Shakti Mission, Gareeb Kalyan Mission, Kisan Kalyan Mission, and Nari Sashaktikaran Mission. Our focus is on empowering these vital segments of society,” stated the Chief Minister, asserting that these initiatives will be prioritized with a clear action plan.
Mr. Yadav highlighted that over 11,000 government job appointment letters had been distributed to the youth in the past eight months, emphasizing a proactive approach to filling vacancies in government positions.
He noted that the establishment of more than 60 new industrial units in the State, with an investment of ₹10,000 crore, is expected to create over 17,000 job opportunities. Additionally, skill development remains a key focus, with the Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana supporting 8,000 students through ₹6.6 crore in scholarships.
Celebrating the achievements of five athletes from Madhya Pradesh at the recent Paris Olympics, Mr. Yadav expressed the government’s commitment to transforming the State into a sports hub and enhancing tourism through sports activities.
The government has awarded ₹1 crore to hockey player Vivek Prasad for his contribution to the bronze medal-winning Indian team in Paris.
In a supportive measure for laborers, Mr. Yadav announced a financial assistance program providing ₹40,000 for those seeking to purchase e-scooters.
Over 1.67 crore registered unorganised workers are benefiting from the Mukhyamantri Jan-Kalyan Sambal Yojana, which has allocated ₹600 crore this year. The second phase of this scheme has seen over ₹670 crore transferred as assistance to more than 30,500 families.
Mr. Yadav reported a budget allocation of ₹40,804 crore for the tribal community’s development and welfare, marking a 23.4% increase compared to the previous budget.
He praised women-centric programs such as the Ladli Behna Yojana, which offers eligible women a monthly allowance of ₹1,250 and is credited with contributing to electoral victories in the State.
Remarkably, the female-to-male ratio has improved from 927 to 956 women for every 1,000 men. Currently, 84,659 anganwadis and 12,670 mini anganwadis operate under 453 child development projects in Madhya Pradesh.
Emphasizing agricultural support, Mr. Yadav outlined a ₹66,605 crore budget allocation for the agricultural sector, along with a target of disbursing ₹23,000 crore in zero-interest farm loans this year.
After delivering his address, the Chief Minister honored police and security personnel with gallantry medals.
