To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the God of War series on March 22, Sony has unveiled an exciting assortment of merchandise. Notable among these offerings is the God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective Set, an expansive collection that features artwork spanning the franchise’s two decades, along with insights and commentary from the developers. Preorders for this two-volume hardcover collection will begin on March 17.
The God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective Set includes two volumes: Volume One, titled “Greek Saga,” covers the original trilogy and its spinoffs, while Volume Two, “Norse Saga,” details the development of both God of War (2016) and God of War: Ragnarok. The entire collection will be packaged in a beautifully designed collector’s box.
While pricing details are still forthcoming, the anticipation surrounding the preorder release is building. Customers can expect this collection to be available at major book retailers, and updates with preorder links will be provided on the launch day.
In addition to the retrospective set, several other anniversary-related items have been announced. An artistic collection of prints, created in partnership with a renowned studio, will be available for preorder starting March 18. Following that, fans can look forward to a 67-inch plush of the serpent Jormungandr, ready for preorder on March 19.
On March 20, fans will have the opportunity to preorder a limited edition 13-disc vinyl set featuring soundtracks from each God of War title, along with a separate collection dedicated solely to the original trilogy. To round off the anniversary merchandise, a God of War 20th Anniversary T-Shirt Collection will launch on March 21, showcasing each game’s logo highlighted in metallic gold on black fabric.
This range of new merchandise is part of Sony’s broader celebration for the God of War 20th anniversary, which includes a free 20th Anniversary Fan Kit offering desktop backgrounds and PSN avatars. Additional events are set to take place, featuring free cosmetic DLC packs for God of War Ragnarok, discounts on the entire God of War game series on various digital platforms, and an official art exhibit at Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles.
