ECNETNews reports that a new legal confrontation has emerged between the popular party game and entrepreneur Elon Musk, along with his aerospace company, SpaceX.
The company, known for its provocative marketing tactics, has filed a lawsuit alleging that SpaceX has been utilizing a parcel of land in Texas that it legally owns. This land was acquired through a fundraising campaign aimed at obstructing the construction of the former President’s proposed border wall back in 2017, asserting that the wall would have no meaningful impact.
“This purchase was a defensive measure against a billion-dollar project that aimed to divide communities and foster division,” stated the game company at that time.
Fast forward to today, and the very same land has become the center of contention between these two parties. The lawsuit claims that SpaceX has encroached upon the land without authorization and has left construction materials scattered across the site.
In a public statement, the game company lamented, “After successfully safeguarding this pristine area for several years, we are now confronted with an unexpected challenge from another billionaire who has seemingly disregarded our ownership and the condition of our land.”
“We have terrible news. Seven years ago, 150,000 people paid us $15 to protect this land. Unfortunately, we now face significant environmental degradation.”
The company has pledged to distribute the lawsuit’s net proceeds, up to $100 each, to the original 150,000 supporters who helped fund the land acquisition. Images alleging to show SpaceX’s activities and materials on the property have been included in the lawsuit documentation.
The statement continued:
“After discovering the unauthorized use of our land, SpaceX tried to coerce us into accepting an undervalued offer. We firmly rejected this and are prepared to take this matter to court.”
