Mariinsky Theater soloist G. Ariunbaatar has been honored with the prestigious Casta Diva Russian Opera Award in the “Singer of the Year” category. This recognition comes in light of his exceptional performances in multiple leading roles at the Mariinsky Theatre, including his notable work in the recent premiere of a new version of “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi at the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia.
A fresh iteration of the acclaimed opera “Rigoletto” is set to grace the Mariinsky stage as part of the Bolshoi Theater’s tour in St. Petersburg, scheduled for April 25-27.
The Casta Diva award, established in 1996 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of opera, recognizes exceptional contributions to the opera industry. It has previously honored legendary artists, reinforcing its status as a mark of excellence in the field.
G. Ariunbaatar made a remarkable debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2016, taking on the role of Escamillo in Carmen. He also received the Order of Genghis Khan, the highest state accolade in Mongolia, that same year.
