The Customs Air Intelligence Unit at Kochi airport has successfully thwarted a gold smuggling attempt involving a passenger who was attempting to bring 466.50 grams of gold, valued at approximately ₹30.34 lakh, into the country.
The suspect, arriving from Doha via Dubai, was intercepted at the exit gate. A thorough inspection revealed eight gold chains concealed within the soles of his shoes, totaling 466.5 grams.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
