Flying Lotus has unveiled a new single titled “Garmonbozia,” drawing inspiration from the iconic series Twin Peaks. This track, named after the enigmatic substance that symbolizes “pain and sorrow,” features the artist’s own vocals for a rare personal touch, as he reflects on themes of “pain and sorrow” and “the red room.”
The term "Garmonbozia," which appears in both Twin Peaks and its film prequel Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, is also portrayed in a striking manner in Twin Peaks: The Return.
In 2017, Flying Lotus created a remix of the Twin Peaks theme and released his last solo album, Flamagra, two years later. The new track “Garmonbozia” continues his exploration of this beloved universe, capturing the essence of its haunting atmosphere.
