KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A pizza delivery driver in central Florida has been apprehended after allegedly forcing her way into a motel room and stabbing a pregnant woman following a dispute over a tip, according to local law enforcement.
Brianna Alvelo faces serious charges, including attempted murder, after the incident that occurred shortly after she delivered a pizza to the victim’s room. The confrontation erupted when the woman provided a $50 bill for a $33.10 order, expecting change. Alvelo reportedly informed her that their policy did not allow for making change, sparking tension.
As the victim searched for smaller bills in her purses and car, Alvelo allegedly observed. Ultimately, the tip turned out to be a mere $2. Witness reports describe Alvelo as rolling her eyes and departing without further communication.
Later that evening, the woman, her boyfriend, and their 5-year-old daughter were asleep when an unexpected knock on their door interrupted their rest. Upon opening the door, they were met by Alvelo and an armed accomplice, both wearing masks, who forcibly entered the room. The armed individual ordered the boyfriend into the bathroom while Alvelo began to rummage through their belongings. In a horrifying turn of events, she is accused of stabbing the pregnant woman 14 times with a pocket knife as the woman attempted to protect her daughter.
The victim, who had recently discovered her pregnancy, was urgently taken to a hospital where she required surgery due to a ruptured lung.
Alvelo now faces multiple charges, including home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping, and aggravated assault with a weapon. Reports indicate that she has requested a public defender, citing an inability to afford private legal representation. As of now, authorities have not disclosed the identity of the male suspect involved in the incident.
