ECNETNews, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Mon. March 31, 2025: Florida’s Caribbean-American Congresswoman, Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, (D-20th District), honored Felicia J. Persaud with the 2025 Women in Leadership Achievement Award during the second EmpowHER Awards held on March 29th. This event celebrated Women’s History Month and highlighted the accomplishments of notable women in leadership roles.
The award ceremony took place at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and acknowledged the contributions of various honorees spanning leadership, STEM, sports, and human rights. Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick emphasized the community’s involvement in selecting the award recipients.
