Severe flooding has impacted five provinces, primarily in the Central Plains region, although water levels have begun to recede, as reported on Sunday. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation announced continued flooding in Ayutthaya, Lamphun, Nakhon Pathom, Suphan Buri, and Uthai Thani, affecting over 31,500 families across more than 770 villages.
In the northern province of Lamphun, nine villages in Muang district remained flooded, but water levels were decreasing. Meanwhile, Uthai Thani experienced flash flooding in about 20 villages in Ban Rai district.
Suphan Buri reported inundation in 109 villages within Bang Pla Ma and Song Phi Nong districts, albeit with water levels also falling there.
In Ayutthaya, flooding persisted in 598 villages across districts including Bang Ban, Bang Pa-in, Bang Pahan, Bang Sai, Phak Hai, Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya, and Sena, yet water levels were similarly declining.
Nakhon Pathom saw floodwaters affect 40 villages in Bang Len and Nakhon Chaisri districts, with a positive trend of receding water levels.
