Severe Flooding continues to impact the southern provinces of Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, and Surat Thani, severely disrupting bus and train services.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has reported that flooding has affected over 43,000 residents in these provinces.
In Chumphon, areas such as Muang, Pathiu, Sawi, and Thung Tako remain submerged.
Nakhon Si Thammarat has reported flooding in numerous districts including Cha-uat, Chalerm Prakiat, and Khanom.
Ranong is experiencing flood impacts in the Kraburi and Muang districts, while Surat Thani faces rising waters in Don Sak, Koh Samui, and Tha Sala.
In Koh Samui, a landslide near a construction site has resulted in two missing workers.
Authorities noted that while floodwaters are receding in several areas, they are increasing in Surat Thani.
Due to the ongoing flooding, train operations have been suspended, affecting services from Bangkok to various southern destinations including Hat Yai and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Adjustments to train routes have been made, with services redirected to minimize disruptions.
Transport Co., managing inter-provincial bus routes, is using detours to avoid flood zones, impacting travel times across the region.
