One to One: John & Yoko, the highly anticipated documentary directed by Kevin Macdonald, offers an in-depth look at the lives of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in Greenwich Village during the early 1970s. The film features newly restored footage of the couple’s landmark 1972 concerts at Madison Square Garden. Viewers can catch the first trailer for the film ahead of its wide release in IMAX on April 11.
The two-night One to One benefit concerts marked not only the only full shows held by Lennon and Ono together, but also represented Lennon’s first and only live performances following his time with The Beatles. Sean Ono Lennon played a key role in producing and remixing the concert audio featured in the film, which seamlessly blends home movies, phone calls, and a detailed reconstruction of the couple’s iconic Bank Street apartment alongside memorable snippets from 1970s television.
